About Grafton City Blues

Grafton City Blues tells the story of Grafton Wisconsin's Paramount records. A Wisconsin furniture company that was a major producer of early blues 78s in the 20's and 30's.. The play takes place in a Bronzeville attic that transcends time. The musical touches on many styles of blues and roots music including electric blues, gospel, delta blues and tent show music. Each member of the cast channels voices from the past and present including Alberta Hunter, Ma Rainey Blind Lemon Jefferson, Son House, Blind Blake, Alfred Schultz and Mayo "Ink" Williams.
